The diary of doctor in training. Some (many) episodes he relates are hilarious. Many are sad encounters with patients and their families and too many describe the appaling conditions that doctors in training have to endure. This is about the British system, but I suspect that it doesn't differ much in Germany. Well worth reading to appreciate what your attending physician has gone through.

This book made me laugh, cringe, and fume. It is wonderful to read how NHS staff give their all just because they believe in doing the right thing. But it is so infuriating to realise they are pushed beyond a limit of safety and humanity. Read it and get active in support of your health service before it fails completely.

Oh wow. This book. Whilst spending a couple of days in hospital I remembered the book recommendation I saw a couple weeks ago and decided to start this book. It felt so honest. So vulnerable. And still quite funny as well.I can only say, that the title warned us about the ending that was coming up. Even though I was expecting some kind of an end to the story, I was not quite ready for this one.So good!

The book is a great read. It is funny but still gives you food for thought highlighting the lesser aspects of the NHL service. It is well written - not heavy but entertaining.

I would recommend this book to everyone - I cannot describe the emotions you go through reading this - you laugh and you despair and you’re left amazed at what these people do.Fair warning, you’ll probably cry at the last chapter

Beautifully written and so fun for the most part but heartbreaking other times. Read it if u are remotly interested in medicine or if u consider falling ill or getting pregnant at some point.

Love! Super funny and interesting, would definitely recommend. An easy read.
